Tx2 All in One Touchsmart & Mediasmart installer.
This is a project I am working on currently for the benefit of the users over at the TouchsmartDevZone Tx2 Laptop forums. HP chose not to release their Touchsmart and Mediasmart software that was originally included with the Vista shipped Tx2s, and chose to only release the updated versions to the Windows 7 shipping 1300 series. However, even the 1300 series users has issues due to this not being available to them other than on the restore CD as part of their factory image.
I decided to look into this as a large amount of users were impacted by this and Hewlett Packard does not appear to have a tool forthcoming to assist users in reinstalling this product that is a staple of the unit when purchased.
After investigation and trial and error, I found that the software was able to be reinstalled on the Tx2's. However this required hacking the software from the IQ series desktops which causes issues with performance and battery life, and is a long and frustrating process to do. I decided to attempt to make a "one stop shop" installer that would take all the convoluted steps out of the picture and allow uses to point and click and be done with the entire process and then enjoy the quality software that HP has provided to take advantage of these touchscreens.
